Green screen shooting

Green screen shots for my thesis project Medusa was filmed today.

One of helpers back out at the last minute, so I was busy to find replacement of him in the morning before we start shooting.

Fortunately I could find one after making sevral calls.

The shooting started from 11:00am.

We started setting up lighting and tracking markers for green screen wall and an actress.

Then I felt something fell down behind me. I saw a large rectangle light cover on the floor when I turned around.

I saw a crack on the cover and realized that it fell down from ceiling.

Everyone got a straind at a moment.

It was happened because one shooting team used the green screen before us didn’t set it back properly. Maybe they were in rush to shoot their shots.

I was surprised because I heard they were professional people from TV program.

We spend almost one hour to set back the lighting covers on the ceiling.

We got a time loss abut fortunately nobody got injury.

It took a little time to boost our shooting pace in the first two shots.

However, It was very smooth after that.

I guess everyone started understanding what I want.

There were some moments DP and I argue a little but he could understand me after all.

We finished much earlier than we expected.

Everyone did great job.

And I was happy when they told me my directing was clear and quick.

I guess experiences from making independent films before helped me to manage shooting smoothly.

Well, I have to go back to deskwork again 🙂
